A secondary school student from Perm won the Hong Kong Physics Olympiad
Vasilii Iugov, a student of school 146, won a gold medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad for secondary school students in Hong Kong (APHO 2016). This year the Olympiad saw more than 200 participants from 26 Asian countries. Russia was represented by a team of 8 students winning 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze prizes.
Vasilii Iugov is to represent Russia at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO-2016) that will take place in Switzerland in July 2016. He is a student of Sergey Polyansky, a teacher at school 146, who has trained several awardees of various International Physics Olympiads.
Vasilii Iugov was one of the awardees of Romanian Master of Physics, International Physics Olympiad (Bucharest, March 2016). Winning the bronze prize enhanced his chances of moving on to the next stage of the competition and won him the right to participate in the Olympiad in Switzerland.
